In this month’s edition, the ACIC Private Notes is spotlighting the ACIC Development Committee, which is co-chaired by Tina Smith and Renée Dailey. The mission of the Development Committee is three-fold:
(1) to promote collegiality amongst ACIC members and provide a forum for members to continually develop and expand their network and relationships;
(2) to address membership needs and interests; and
(3) to engage the ACIC membership and encourage active involvement in the College.
In practice, the Development Committee works hand and glove with the other ACIC Committees and adds value to the College in various ways. At the recent Chicago Spring Forum, the Development Committee organized and hosted an interactive “ice-breaker” on Thursday morning complete with “80’s- style” prizes to both invigorate the crowd and to raise awareness of ongoing ACIC initiatives like the website and online directory. The Committee also helped to weave the “Back to the Future” theme throughout the Spring Forum by coming up with the movie quotes for each session that you saw on the program. In addition, they organized and promoted an on-sight photo-booth to encourage College Members to pose for a photo to be posted to their profiles on the website. The photo booth was a great success and we expect eighty photos to be added to the online directory shortly! The constant mission of the Development Committee is to work with the Board of Trustees and the other Committees to members’ awareness of what the College can offer them.
Keep your eyes out for the next initiative of the Development Committee, which is to add a rotating “Member Profile” on the home page of the ACIC website, which will spotlight various members (with their permission!) along with a head-shot and “fun fact”, with a goal of helping us all put a face to a name.
