Membership Committee
The Membership Committee is primarily responsible for reviewing applications for ACIC membership and recommending applicants who meet the College’s membership criteria to the Board of Trustees for approval. The committee considers the totality of a candidate’s responses in their application, with particular emphasis on (i) the portion of the applicant’s practice that is devoted to representing institutional investors, (ii) indicative transactions that demonstrate the applicant’s representation of institutional investors, (iii) participation by the applicant in the activities of the College (e.g. forums and educational meetings), and (iv) other factors which the Board of Trustees deems relevant. The committee also reviews, and refers to the Board, applications for Emeritus status from long-time members who are retiring but want to remain involved in the College. Finally, the committee seeks to implement initiatives to improve the onboarding experience of new members in the College and to encourage active engagement among the membership generally. Please reach out to the Co-Chairs, Jennifer Fitzpatrick (Pacific Life), Nicole Windsor (Chapman and Cutler LLP) or Tom Pasuit (Kuvare) with any questions.
Transaction Process Management Committee
The Transaction Process Management Committee (TPMC) oversees the ongoing evolution of the Model Form Note Purchase Agreements and related documentation. In recent years, its work has included updating the model make whole and swap indemnity provisions and preparing new form language for the ACIC website to address ratings rationale requirements for private letter ratings. The committee published updated versions of the Model Form Note Purchase Agreements in March 2026. The TPMC continues to monitor market practices and terms relevant to members of the College.
Education Committee
The Education Committee assists the Annual Meeting and Spring Forum co-chairs in planning, coordinating, developing and implementing the educational programs of the College. Each event is a multi-day conference during which up to 10 hours of continuing education panels consisting of a comprehensive array of relevant topics are presented as well as numerous opportunities for networking between the sessions. In addition, the Committee is responsible for identifying topics of current interest to be presented and discussed at one-hour CLE webinars open to members of the College. The Education Committee seeks to present three or four such webinars annually. The Education Committee is comprised of roughly 20 members of the College, with representation from institutions and outside law firms. The Committee currently has 4 co-chairs and changes are made to the roster at the start of each year. We are always seeking topics and speaker recommendations for upcoming panels and webinars, so please contact an Education Committee member with your suggestions!
Communications and Public Relations Committee
The CPRC continues to organize and execute the principal communications channels of the College, which include Private Notes, the periodic newsletter of the College, the ACIC website, the ACIC LinkedIn page and general email and social media communications about upcoming events such as the conferences and the CLEs. A link to each issue of Private Notes is emailed to all Fellows of the College, and all recent issues can be found on the website. So far in 2026, four issues of Private Notes have been published (February, March, May and July). Also in 2026, the CPRC is developing a committee survey to initiate greater engagement and development from committee members. All Fellows of the College are welcome to join the CPRC. It is a great way to meet and work with other Fellows of the College, learn about the College’s activities and upcoming events, and help contribute to its growth and improvement. If you are interested in joining the CPRC, please email office@aciclaw.org and indicate the CPRC as your preferred committee.
Development Committee
The Development Committee is a standing committee of the College focused on developing and implementing the Spring and Fall conference themes and equipping new members to succeed in the College and in the practice. The Development Committee fosters collegial relationships among new and existing members. Finally, it should be noted that other committees refer to the Development Committee as the “fun” committee. The Development Committee prides itself on cultivating a collegial and collaborative membership by adding a dash of fun to the College’s events.
