Come one, come all, to the ACIC World’s Fair! On behalf of the Board of Trustees and the Education Committee, we invite you to join us at the ACIC’s 2024 Fall Annual Meeting and Education Conference to be held at the Revere Hotel in Boston on October 24th and 25th. See how our speakers “Innovate Beyond the Model” to explore a variety of timely topics applicable to institutional investors. The conference will feature a distinguished list of moderators and panelists that includes both external and internal specialists and practitioners, including speakers ranging from an agent in the FBI’s Financial Crimes Unit to an expert generational consultant. The program will begin with a market update of U.S. domestic and cross-border private placement markets, including the potential impact of the U.S. presidential elections. We will continue with a discussion of how institutional investors can understand and respond to privacy, data protection, and cybersecurity concerns; a session focusing on recent developments and current issues in the Australia and Asia markets; an examination of developments in international sanctions laws and implications for lenders; and another market focus session centering on Europe, including a discussion of recent restructuring developments. Our first day will conclude with an exploration of CTLs, data centers, and similar structures. Our Friday session will kick off with a panel focusing on recent developments in the Latin America market. We will then turn to a speaker discussing the generational issues, how they have been affected by Covid, and what that may mean for professional relationships and interactions. Finally, the conference will conclude with a panel addressing upcoming NAIC changes, such as ratings discretion and the principles-based bond definition, and what they may mean for our industry. Throughout the conference, there will be many opportunities for networking, working out, and otherwise enjoying your fellow innovators!
