A message from the co-chairs of the 2021 Spring Investment Forum, Heather Wenzel and Robin Lenarz:
On behalf of the Board of Trustees and the Education Committee, co-chairs Heather Wenzel and Robin Lenarz invite you to connect virtually to the ACIC’s 2021 Spring Forum on April 14 and 15. Please join the ACIC Book Club as we “Carpe Librum” and explore a variety of “best selling” issues in the private placement world. We have assembled a great list of distinguished “authors” that include both external and internal specialists and practitioners.
Our opening chapter discussion takes us far away to the world of Latin American Investments, including an overview of structures and a market update. From there, we turn the page into a fascinating ethics discussion on Generational Diversity in the Workplace with our guest speaker Chris DeSantis. Day One concludes with a chapter on the Funding and Closing Process, including helpful measures to prevent fraud.
Day Two “kicks off” with a panel on Sports Financing, including an overview of stadium, league-wide and league-level structures and a market update for the sector. Next, as a “sequel” to the Tipper X presentation in 2019, we will hear a prosecutorial perspective on Insider Trading from David Miller, a former federal prosecutor on insider trading cases, including cases involving Tipper X, who now works in private practice while moonlighting as a consultant to the hit TV show Billions. Our final chapter will “enlighten” us with a panel discussion on current issues in the energy market, including changes in the landscape and some perspectives on ESG investing as it relates to the sector.
We will laugh, we will cry, we will share secrets that will delight the mind! Register today and pull up a chair!
