Rock the Vote!
Happy Summer Everyone!
It’s been a steamy one of late here on the east coast, and as we work toward our 2016 Annual Meeting and Education Conference, things are heating up with the College, as well.
Before providing some teasers for the Annual Meeting program, I want to take a moment to give Kirk Orr (AIG Investments) and Brad Crawford (Vedder Price) a big shout out for bringing us a Spring Forum program with broad applicability and relevance that was coupled with a collegial and fun vibe! Rocking the program with classic tunes and the reception with a jukebox was fantastic, music really is a universal language.
Bryon Cho (MetLife) and Jamie Cain (Sutherland, Asbill & Brennan) are busily preparing our American Electoral College of Investment Counsel program. Capitalizing on this election year for a political theme, the panels are geared to Make Investments Great Again! We will be treated to a couple of new features, a political twist on the traditional market update and the chance to cast your VOTE. To learn more, you will have to join us at the Grand Hyatt New York, conveniently located in Grand Central Station on October 20th and 21st.
As I mentioned in January, our committees are highly engaged in the business of the College: providing current substantive articles and information, approving new members, providing CLE programs, supplying valuable input for and promotion of the Spring Forum and Annual Meeting, updating the model forms and steadily improving our website look and utility. Thank you to all those who devote their time to make this all possible. If you are not yet involved, I urge you – ask not what the ACIC can do for you, but what you can do for the ACIC – bring your talents to bear and continue the great tradition of volunteerism that epitomizes our organization. It really is a wonderful opportunity to network with peers in our industry and lead the College.
We have such a progressive spirit, from the soon to be published instructions to the print ready version of the membership directory, to the real time polling activity to be unveiled at the Annual Meeting.
Having rocked Chicago, let’s go vote in NYC!
