Date:
Thursday, December 7, 2017 -
5:00pm to 6:00pm

Thursday, December 7, 2017

4:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M. (Eastern Time)

During this 1-hour CLE webinar, Emily Slater of Burford Capital and Dan Brockett of Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan will introduce ACIC Fellows to the world of litigation finance. We will discuss the market for third-party financing of litigation claims, the nuts and bolts of evaluating and underwriting cases that are financed, the economic terms of these financing transactions and the role of the financier during the course of the case. We will also touch on certain ethical concerns that arise in connection with litigation finance, including confidentiality and privilege concerns, as well as conflicts of interest. Finally, we will consider litigation finance from the investor perspective, as an asset class with very low correlation to the capital markets.

REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED to receive the dial in information.
